Finally, after a so long time I’m submitting a new draw…
According to the Jewish mythology, Lilith was the first woman, the first Eve… Then she rebelled to Adam and God since she did not want to subdued to Adam will and to give pleasure to him…
Lilith then generated the succubi and incubi that visit the humans during the night…
In the Jewish legends, Lilith steals the men’s semen during the sleep to get pregnant and to her demon-like sons.
In the medieval legend Lilith mixed with the indo-european goddesses and with other female figures to generate the “idea” of the witches.
Here, she is as represented as the first witch with some of her symbolic attributes such as the snake.
Inspired by that asked a draw to me… Still I have to finish some other free commissions I got..
So very cool. I love the upper lines that look like smoke but edgy. I have a book called Dragon World, and the art in it reminds me of yours. I have always enjoyed the simplicity yet detail of work like this. *smiles. It's something I want to do as I work on my books that I want to illustrate myself. *smiles. Good job. *smiles.
It's call Dragonworld (an epic fantasy), by Byron Preiss and J. Micheal Reaves and Illustrated by Joseph Zucker. The copyright is for 1979. Sadly i have a book club edition, I inherited it from my birth mother, so I can't give you the ISBN number, but it should be in print still, or at lest I hope so. I think you would love the artwork, you both have similar styles. It's also a good story. Big though. *smiles.
