Dedicated to Roberta Paris, the most lovely genetic engineer I’ve ever meet.
She has a luminous, breathtaking smile… and, luckily, she often smiles! Of course I was not able to catch any of the beauty of her smile.

Unconsciously, I arranged the drawing in different fragments… may be because I still do not know her very well… I know only few glimpses of her character and life. So I do not have a “complete” idea of her…
I decided to draw a summer scene with the sea, a little village… those are some of the things I like most, so I wanted to associate her with them. Moreover, her mother is from Sicily and she still keeps in her veins the vitality of that sunny island as you can immediately guess when you seen her smiling... Nonetheless, I drew also a night scene… the night is a mysterious part of our existence and it’s the home of the dreams… I liked very much the strong contrast between the night and the day… I think is rather appropriate, since I believe she now living a stressful and contradictory situation.

As far as the technical point of view, I used china ink, watercolours and pastels… The scanner, of course, messed-up all the colours and the original is rather different, anyway I couldn’t do better…

I suggest the full view.
I’ll be waiting for your critics and suggestions!!!

It's really pretty. I think it would look a bit better, however, if you finished the left arm a little more. The way it is now, it looks like you just forgot that part, because there's so much detail everywhere else. Also, the smile looks a little bit off to me. I've never seen the real person you're referencing so maybe it's exactly how she smiles, but the triangle shape of the mouth looks unreal.

Goodness, everything you draw is gorgeous, I love this so much.

I really love your style of art. it's like your mind takes camera shots of what you feel and your hand just unfolds it onto the paper beautifully. :) this is so beautifully done.

This is a fave if I ever saw one. You do capture her smile, before reading your description i noticed her smile. You have a natural talent unrivaled in the areas of flow and form as well. Hence, a fave!
